I found a few old photos of a Fabia a friend of mine once owned. Try to estimate the mileage of that car based on the wear.
I'll post the correct answer a bit later.

So here's the real mileage of the car:
Pretty shocking. The car was terrible overall by the way, not just in terms of fit and finish. It needed a new timing chain every 40k km and was generally a massive piece of crap. In the end the head warped on the engine for no apparent reason and the car got sold for spares.

About 130,000 miles / 200,000 km

They're not THAT badly made. :P

That's closer I guess.

You vastly overestimated the quality of materials Skoda use.

That'd be pretty bad even for 200k km.

157k? It's looking rather tired for that mileage. You should see my Peugeot 406 coupe and 205 GTi. Both are close to 240k km, and neither looks nearly this worn.

That says a lot about Skoda's quality.

I never really got the Skoda love on this site. They're not that well built, they're boring, not overly cheap and just plain generic.

Same. I never saw the appeal. They do well in terms of 'car for money' ratio (the Superb was always excellent at that), but they aren't even close to anything a car enthusiast would want. A Skoda Octavia is the equivalent of a beige Camry in America.

It's because we don't get them.

Nope. Just a regular family car.
